June 13, 2006

Hi everyone!

Sorry I’ve taken so long to write again. Here is a little bit of what’s going on here in the Springfield area.

On June 4, 2006, Kevin and Jennifer’s two children were received into the Kingdom of God through holy baptism at
Redeemer Lutheran Church. Kyle and Zoe were sponsored by Mandee Osterloh, daughter of Keith and Kim
Osterloh and Laura Polacoff, daughter of Harry and Kathy Polacoff. Laura expressed that it truly was an honor to
be asked to sponsor Kyle and Zoe. After the service we were invited over to Keith and Kim’s for a cookout. We
were unable to stay too long because we had to go to our church, Trinity Lutheran Church, for the installation and
ordination of our new Missionary at Large, Manny Rodriquez. Manny will serve our district with outreach to the
Hispanic community among other things. This day was also my birthday, so I had quite a wonderful time.

The following day Harry and I went to St. Louis to see a Cardinal baseball game in the new stadium. It truly is
beautiful. Getting seats was a real problem though. I paid $38.00 a piece for our tickets only to find out that we
were in folding chairs directly behind two other people on the same level. We both were unable to see anything
and I became quite upset. There was a really nice usher there who helped us out though. We weren’t even in his
section. He said that later they would try to move us to better seats. Well, I was becoming more upset and Harry
went to speak to him again. He referred us to the ticket adjustment office. I explained to the lady there how much I
had spent and that we were unable to see anything and she said she would see what she could do. In the
meantime the usher came to see if we had been helped and stayed till she returned. She gave us new seats that
were much better. The usher showed us to the new seats. That gentleman was truly helpful and we appreciated
him so much. All in all we saw a great game except for losing. Three homeruns by the Cards and two by the Reds.
If only they had won!

On Wednesday Laura and I treated Jennifer to lunch at Bandana’s Bar-b-que. It was our last chance to see her
before she left for New York. We are really going to miss her and the family.

Laura went on a float trip with the Lutheran Student Center on Saturday and Sunday. She really enjoys floating
and I’m happy that she is involved with a great group at the LSC. Harry and Joey went on a fishing float trip not too
long ago. Only problem was Joey was sick for ¾  of the trip. He did enjoy the last part of the trip though.

Jill, Pam’s daughter graduated from massage school on June 3, 2006. We are very proud of her for her
accomplishments and wish her the best in her future.

Life is pretty much moving along at a fast pace. It doesn’t seem like it should be the middle of June yet. Before long
we will be celebrating the 4th of July. Wow! Summer will be over and we will wonder where the time went.  I hope
your summer is going great!

See ya all later!
